- reify 2y agoThis was the best retro gaming distro that I tried. I did try Lakka, Recalbox and Retropie too I installed it on an old i3 laptop with an old 256gb ssd. super easy, everything worked great. Recognised my hand controller. Took a short while to find how to access the file manager to upload games. Ctrl + F1 or F2. It was time consuming writting directly to the SSD. It is not like installing a linux distro where you dd to a usb then have the option to install to your drive. There is no option to install from the usb. I think it is designed to run off a usb drive. I used a live disc, copied over batocera-x86_64-x86_64-39-20240304 linux version (not the RPI version), extracted it and then installed it directly to /dev/sda with dd. gunzip -c batocera-x86_64-x86_64-39-20240304.img.gz | sudo dd of=/dev/sda bs=1M status=progress
