Reason for the charge: baby has bruises, which the mother already wrote about in her journal as 'unexplained', but they were apprehensive of going to the doctor again because of being told off before. New (recent) medical info from the mother show that this could be because of some auto immune disease, but the prosecuters at the time went for the dad without any signs or history of abuse, violence, etc. Dad later gets off on a technicality, but when the baby dies (it was not a healthy baby from the getgo), father is again charged, with manslaughter. Gets life in prison. But let's go a little further and also force the wife to take a pleadeal by testifying against her husband, or she'll lose parental rights. She refused. So everybody loses in this story. The rest of the article is just a show-and-tell for the D.A. mrs Eaton.
