Gen X Faces Higher Cancer Rates Than Any Previous Generation
- t1c 2y agoAs someone in Gen Z, I seriously hope this trend doesn't continue...
- ZeroGravitas 2y agoI don't understand this claim: > improvements against cervical cancer can be linked to more effective screening How can better screening reduce the incidence of a cancer? Is it instead a graph of cancers that got to some specific stage that the screening helps prevent by early intervention? Extra confusing as they address the obvious confounder of early detection leading to rises in the incidence but don't really go into detail on that other than to dismiss it. edit: for cervical cancer the screening can detect "pre-cancers" and help head it off: https://www.cancer.org/cancer/types/cervical-cancer/causes-risks-prevention/prevention.html https://www.cancer.org/cancer/types/cervical-cancer/causes-r...
