The first time I had cilantro was as an adult, and I hated it. It tasted like dish soap. Now I actually crave it a little on specific dishes: enchiladas, burritos, banh mi, and Pad Thai. But I wouldn't want dish soap in those dishes (I think). And I don't like it on its own.
