That's what makes it completely American. Other countries do not spend so much time and money on avoiding collateral damage, using extremely expensive technology to develop an extremely accurate weapon against a non-military target without any attempt at discretion.

- talldayo 2y agoToday, Israel's military doctrine is known to be anything but "targeted" even in their own words. From IDF general Gadi Eizenkot: > What happened in the Dahieh quarter of Beirut in 2006 will happen in every village from which shots will be fired in the direction of Israel. We will wield disproportionate power and cause immense damage and destruction. From our perspective, these are military bases. [...] This isn't a suggestion. It's a plan that has already been authorized. (https://archive.is/YjfN5 https://archive.is/YjfN5) This "Dahieh Doctrine" is a marked departure from the United State's desired approach, especially as applied to urban warfare. And while Israel denies it so far, their reported application of the "Hannibal directive" and “Where’s Daddy?” targeting system are seemingly designed specifically to maximize collateral damage. If these preliminary reports are found to be true, it would suggest that Israel has automated the process of authorizing war crimes. When comparing the tactical doctrine of the United States, Israel and Russia, it becomes pretty clear that each nation has forged an identity of their own. Israel's lack of tactical decorum is the very reason that their military relationship with the United States is jeopardized: https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/09/middleeast/biden-weapons-deliveries-israel-reaction-intl/index.html https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/09/middleeast/biden-weapons-deli...
- wslh 2y agoI was not talking about the Israeli doctrine but the use of targeted killings and weapons like this. Beyond doctrines we can clearly see that United States and Russia had/are caused/causing significant collateral damages in their incursions (e.g. [1][2]).
