Python is just interfacing with native code in these benchmarks. Matrix multiplication written in purely python would probably be slower by at least 2 orders of magnitude.
- p0w3n3d 2y agoYes, but python was made to interface with complicated C backend using modern and friendly, mathematics aware syntax. That's why python is so good for e.g. machine learning, and nobody does it in Java for example.
