It's a commonly believed lie that gasoline is not profitable. It is the main profit center for all gas station chains.
- StanislavPetrov 2y agoThat may be true of chains, but for ~20 years a close family friend owned an independent gas station with a small convenience store and they made 4-5x more in the store than the ~1c per gallon of gas they sold. The margins on Soda, candy and cigarettes were absolutely massive.
