- tocs3 2y agoSure delays are expected but "But the reactor itself won't fire up fully until 2039 at the earliest." That is 19 years delayed and big cost overruns as well. I Hope it goes well. I would like to see fusion power. But it is a lot of money, time, and effort but is it going to work or teach us what we want to know. The up an running in 2020 was maybe a little optimistic. - stop50 2y agoIts sole purpose is to research how fusions interacts with the surroindings and how to mitigate that. Its not an project where you can use an file to make a change or observe it. Fusion isn't observable in the nature for us, so ITER and the others provide is with the first data we can rely on to prove theories and materials.
