  Maybe you need to branch out to using https://www.gnu.org/software/emms/ https://www.gnu.org/software/emms/ instead of this?

  Oh, hadn't thought of this... While the goal isn't to build a music player, I think we can make it configurable to show a queue button if a function is set with your preferred mechanism. Would that help?
