Microsoft's canceled Xbox cloud console gets detailed in new patent
- solardev 2y agoIf anyone's looking for something like that, there is a dedicated cloud handheld: https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/products/cloud-gaming/cloud-handheld-gaming.940-000198.html https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/products/cloud-gaming/cloud-... It's lighter than the Steam Deck and has a bigger, higher resolution screen. But it can only stream games (or play janky Android games). Build quality is nowhere near as nice as the Deck, but it's comfortable to hold because of its weight. EDIT: Beware that it's partially developed with Tencent, the Chinese gaming giant though. They control the OS so you'd potentially be giving them your Google credentials. You can also install the streaming apps directly on a Google TV stick or a Nvidia Shield (GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud) and connect a controller via Bluetooth to play that way. That basically does what a dedicated Xbox streaming unit would've done anyway, but you're not just limited to the Microsoft option. The Nvidia service is actually a lot better anyway, since it streams from much more powerful RTX 4080s while the MS one uses much weaker actual Xbox consoles.
