One of the worst experiences of my career was having a terrible SAFe scrum master and their management team try to implement Kanban for my development team. It somehow wound up being even more tedious and micromanaged than SAFe. I know that's the function the management, but it worries me when I hear someone think some new buzzwords will suddenly enforce careful planning and mutual respect.
