  There are lots of empty auto plants sitting in Detroit. Recently one entrepreneur bought the old Lincoln plant in Detroit where he plans on making hybrid pickup trucks. But he has run into one delay after another. Problem is Michigan's bureaucracy. The articles author, Dug Song, tried to assist a friends company in moving to Michigan. They were natives and wanted to locate here. State told them it would take a year. I'm guessing their VC's wouldn't have found that acceptable ;<). Texas said thirty days and we are assigning you a full time state employee who will help you cut through any roadblocks in your way. Additionally that employee had the ability to call the Governor any time they ran into any real problems. Would you be surprised that they reluctantly decided to build their new plant in Texas?
