One overlooked aspect of the infrastructure here in Berlin is the subpar implementation of regulations related to fire safety in the old/legacy buildings.
In comparison with some places in America (US, South America), where fire extinguishers and fire combat apparatus are present in several places, including residential buildings, the engineering and architecture in Berlin do not consider these aspects.
For instance, when I visited the Axel Springer building, I noticed that there were no fire extinguishers on the entire floor, and the evacuation exits did not have fire-resistant doors and push mechanisms. Additionally, some exit doors were locked or inactive.
