People spend years trying to get a federal government job, because of the perceived job security. There's an entire industry devoted to getting a federal government job. Then again, if Trump gets elected this Fall, the thrust of Project 2025 is to remove that security - so who knows how this strategy will work out long-term?
- richwater 2y ago> job security It's only "job security" because people know they can do the absolute bare minimum and never get fired. The market isn't demanding their skills such that they have negotiating power; their employer just have absolutely no incentive, oversight or accountability to do anything.
- BenFranklin100 2y agoI was recently downvoted for pointing out this very fact. The pay ain’t the best in a government job, but it’s nearly impossible to get fired as long as one has a pulse.
