- yorwba 2y agoIt's a deescalatory move: > experts note that U.S. military reconnaissance aircraft are now kept at a respectful distance. Although international law allows them to fly within 23 kilometers of the Crimea coast. (Manned aircraft are going to be more careful to avoid areas where they might get shot down.)
- protomolecule 2y agoIt would've been de-escalatory if that drone was moved to respectful distance. What we have now is changing one kind of escalation -- using American spy drone close to Russia to direct attacks by American missiles with Ukrainians pretending to have part in it -- to another -- using American manned spy plane for the same goal but from longer distance.
