The TigerBeetle project has changed my view on development. I have been a fan of E2E (and stand alone) testing for a long time. So many mocks in unit tests are just "extra code" that does not need to be (especially at the DB level). The E2E above simulation, gives a solid reason to have "mocks" again. For testing hard failures in code, for looking at the very unhappy paths.
