Maybe for next Christmas he can let us choose our own CSS theme :-D.
- dcurtis 18y agoThe day Paul Graham uses CSS is the day hell freezes over.
- brandonkm 18y agonever say never!
- fallentimes 18y agoHaha yes, that's why I made the comment. Regardless a choose your own table christmas adventure would be fine for next year.

- pg 18y agoActually I'm not against CSS constructs. I'll use them when they're convenient. The problem is that saying this to CSS zealots is like saying to the ancient Hebrews that one will worship Yahweh along with all the other gods.
- fallentimes 18y agoSounds like how we are with funding.
- thomasmallen 18y agoCSS is pretty much universally a superior way to manage your page styling, which is why us "CSS Zealots" have that attitude.
- fallentimes 18y agoOh no...here we go again.
- mnemonik 18y agoI could really care less as long as everything works, except for one little thing, since nothing has classes or IDs, it makes it much more difficult for me to tweak my userstyle all the ways I want to. I know this isn't anyone else's problem, but it would sure be nice if there were classes and IDs that didn't have any CSS by default, but anyone could use as reference to style the site themselves.
- nailer 18y agoSorry dude, that's not enough of a counter argument to eternity's evidence that separating content from presentation is A Good Thing.

- fallentimes 18y agoHaha it wasn't a counter argument (as I tend to agree with you), it was commentary about what happens over and over again: two opposite sides arguing with no one changing their minds. Your apology is accepted anyway - Merry Christmas :).
- andreyf 18y agoWhat makes me think one ought to be able to style your websites however one wants?
- thomasmallen 18y agoPeople can choose to style their pages however they please.

- delano 18y agoHow dare you!
- randomwalker 18y agoYou can do that yourself for pretty much any site with the Stylish extension for Firefox, which lets you tweak CSS of websites you visit. It turns out to be surprisingly easy to write your own color scheme or whatever. I actually use my own for hacker news because the default one makes it hard to see the links on the front page that I've already clicked on. http://arvindn.livejournal.com/98803.html http://arvindn.livejournal.com/98803.html
