My EOS R5 does animal facial/eye recognition as much as human, and it's a bit of a leap to go from "emphasize focal points on subjects when you've asked to prioritize those subjects" as "AI gimmicks". The "gimmick filters" are nothing new for Fuji, which has offered its optional film simulations for most of the X100 range. I have no dog in this fight (currently I own an R5, a Leica Q2), but latching on to this as "very uninteresting" while studiously ignoring IBIS and a 50% resolution bump to complain about optional filters seems a little ... bitter.
