I tried this once and was amazed when my landlord texted me the same week wondering why my car had not moved for 2 full days?
A subsequent game of hide and seek ensued until I just called it a day and moved out. His precious office has remained empty for the subsequent 18 months.
Never underestimate the lengths landlords will go to in order to prevent you, in their minds, getting something for nothing.
- tocs3 2y agoI do not know about your case but it can depend on zoning. A landlord can get into some trouble letting someone living in a building not zoned for it.
- Bluestein 2y agoIndeed.- PS. In some jurisdictions the property needs to be declared as "for that purpose" (housing)
- dazc 2y agoYes, this is true. My point really was how closely my landlord had been monitoring my movements. The first time in 2 years my car doesn't move and he instantly knows, despite living many miles away?
