#1 reason not to have a kid: the apparently universal and irresistible urge to constantly tell other people about the latest unremarkable thing your unremarkable kid did and how proud it made you

- nunez 2y agoIt is also EXTREMELY frowned upon to say that you dislike your kids, so knowing how people actually feel about the matter is challenging.
- richrichie 2y agoThe public display of affection is amusing. The standard framed photograph on the office desk, the customary banner on social media landing page announcing the magnitude of love for one's family, etc, etc.
- nunez 2y agoNormalized Stockholm syndrome. Notice how many desks will have pictures of and/or drawings/things from kids but their partners are absent or minimally featured.
- Fire-Dragon-DoL 2y agoI mean, think about how fulfilling life with a kid is, given how parents have this recurring problem
