For example, if you upload a copy of The Great Gatsby, you may only be able to send 15 messages in that conversation within 5 hours, as each time you send a message, Claude “re-reads” the entire conversation, including any large attachments.
Seems to also be limited by tokens. It’s still quite obscure.

- cma 2y agoChatGPT says the same about capacity for Pro I think.
- r2_pilot 2y agoFor what it's worth, I haven't run into any limitations while using the API side. Although I also haven't really had to use it so extensively that it would be a problem.
- aoeusnth1 2y agoWith a fixed capacity, someone’s traffic is going to be rejected. I think it makes sense to have a variable rate limit depending on available capacity and demand.
