Singaporean here. I grew up in a family without a car, know very little about cars, still don't have a driving licence, and didn't really care for a licence until recently. Many of my friends (in tech, especially) don't drive or care to own a car either. I think our public transit is fine, despite the very infrequent delay. What I can't stand is the lack of transparency and constant cover-ups surrounding any breakdown or delay, because the transit operators have standards to meet.
