Shame indeed. That whole idea of “my opinion isn’t up for debate because it’s actually not my opinion — it’s a fact. And therefore there will be no discussion…” It’s infiltrated so many other social spheres and I would argue it’s one of the top contributors to why were so polarized and divided today.
