It lowered the bar for being curious. I used to Google all sorts of questions that popped in my mind. For a while I even had a list called "things I don't understand". Then Google got worse and I started to resent having to refine my query multiple times and sorting through junk results. Now I ask ChatGPT and get a straightforward answer. I am aware that it's sometimes wrong, but as an average of many shallow introductions, it's excellent.
