Overthrowing Our Tech Overlords
- riehwvfbk 2y agoJust imagine the scale of the black market and corruption such a system would bring. It would be truly staggering. Curiously, there is no mention whatsoever of how law enforcement would work in this brave new world. Neither is there any provision for what to do with people who'd like to opt out of this utopia. Why would they do that? Because they believe they are better than average and can do better than what this system will give them. Newsflash: most everyone thinks they are better than average, if even a little. Lastly, if Zuck and Bezos get a single share in this alternative universe - same as any employee - what's the rationale for being a founder?
- kemmishtree 2y agoDoes that one share have all the voting power? Then for founders with real missions and real visions, it won't matter at all.
- riehwvfbk 2y agoAt least my understanding was that no, their vote is the same as any vote. In practice, of course, this won't matter one bit. Decisions will still be made by someone at the top. They'll just have to be washed through a populist propaganda campaign to ensure the mechanics of voting work out.
