It’s all about costs of production
A VFX team was used, but it took them probably 5% of the billable hours for this result.
Plus, added “marketing points” for making a press release with the AI buzzword
- krapp 2y agoI'm aware of the incentives, but eventually companies are going to have to realize that the end result still matters. Once the buzzworthiness of "AI" (which is mostly negative) wears off, all they're left with is an ad that fails at its attempt to evoke a sense of nostalgia. None of the toys in it are actual recognizable products, which would be the most important visual elements one would expect a toy ad to have.
- saurik 2y agoOnce the buzzworthyness of AI wears off this ad will be old news anyway: even the best quality most impactful ads are just temporary assets.

People still watch TV and ads, and this one doesn’t seem so different. It’s bland like all the rest and could be as effective.
- krapp 2y agoAn opinion about something you admit you know almost nothing about, and care nothing about, and have had very little exposure to for the last 20 years, isn't really worth much but OK.
