It’s wild to think in the information era we may actually have an information black hole of this time in 50 years. Man, I miss the original Google mission.

- toomuchtodo 2y agoIt's simply a call to support the Internet Archive more robustly, and ensure data stored is durable globally. Who would you trust more? Big Tech and Silicon Valley? Or a non profit with a quirky benevolent dictator whose mission is universal access to all knowledge?
- phone8675309 2y agoThe Internet Archive needs all the support we can give so that when hack writers who have Reddit personality disorder blame them for their books not selling during the pandemic sue that the Internet Archive legal team can vaporize said hack from orbit.
- EricE 2y agoThen you have hack crybully journalists using their uncle to delete stuff about them they don't like from the Internet Archive. No thanks.
- phone8675309 2y ago......no The entire point is to make the Internet Archive have a legal team that can tell crybully journalists and their uncles to eat a fat dick
- sirspacey 2y agoMy honest answer is Big Tech. I’ve known far too many benevolent dictators of non-profits.
- TeMPOraL 2y agoBetter them than the advertisers, which "Big Tech" ultimately is; it's hard to have more compromised morals than that.
