Tonsky blog post HN comment boilerplates:
- He writes about UX but there's no dark mode!
- The cursors are really distracting!
- The yellow background color makes it unreadable!
- Some comment about the actual content of the post
- gritzko 2y agoDo you know Nikita? He likes to provoke and manipulate the audience. Check the today's twin post on the same subject: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=40772955 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=40772955 Comments are 100% on the point, both bland and boring.
- bambax 2y agoMoving pointers mean most people (including me) will never read the actual content, so we might as well discuss why someone would choose to alienate their potential audience in this manner.
- dewey 2y agoSometimes alienating can be intentional.
- bambax 2y agoSure, but isn't that called trolling? Shouldn't trolls be blocked by default?
- seumars 2y agoAppealing to different tastes is far from trolling.
- turnsout 2y agoIf he's targeting a niche, I'd love to know the customer profile. Maybe he can find a group of people who want to read books in Figma
- dewey 2y agoSome people also just want to have fun on the internet, remember Myspace, Tumblr etc? These sites were hardly functional, inclusive or accessible but they sure were fun.
- dinkleberg 2y agoThat seems a stretch to say most people won’t read the content because of this. Some for sure. But most?
- jitl 2y agoI think it’s designed to shoo away HN middlebrow dismissalists such as yourself.
- yen223 2y agoThat dark mode is hilarious
- manmal 2y agoIt's the UX incarnation of a dad joke.
- luzojeda 2y agoWell to be fair the cursors _really_ are distracting, what do you expect
