Yes. It would be a pretty useless lappy if I did not get updates. Oh, no app store as well. Installations come through something called jamf. Updates are controlled centrally. In fact if you find one of our lappies on the street, it's pretty much useless as it's somehow connected to apple and our account. A full install from USB comes right up to a work login. I got a broken one once and fixed it (PCB level repair) thinking I'll just use it myself as it was to be thrown out. In the end I just sent it back to the mothership. I have a home desktop as well, and I don't find the work one much harder to use.
