Or that you didn't consider all relevant factors, like if you used the latest image like the other use did, as they asked?
- ziddoap 2y agoOr it was 3 days ago, so it was the image available on Microsoft 3 days ago?
- DEADMINCE 2y agoI mean, you're answering a question here, so it doesn't really make sense to start your reply with 'Or'. I get you're trying to be snappy back, but it doesn't really work here. That aside, the point is there are a ton of possibilities why it worked for you and not another user. Just because it worked for you and the other people reporting it did (and dare I point out some confirmation bias for you dismissing the other people saying it didn't) doesn't mean it still works universally or in newer/older or even different regional versions of an image.
- ziddoap 2y agoI feel like a crazy person, trying to convince strangers on the internet that I really did manage to install Windows with a local account. Why? I'm not even sure. This isn't how I imagined my future when I was a kid. You can take the win here, I probably used an obscure regional version from 1998 or something. To quote the OP: It's not possible to install a local account any more
- Aeglaecia 2y agoI think myself and the other dude are trying to help you see that theres no contest to be winning here
- ziddoap 2y agoYes, you're right, the other person had a very helpful tone indeed. My mistake.
- DEADMINCE 2y agoI appreciate that I came on to see you say this, because I was about to reply quoting you saying I can take the win, saying I wasn't trying to compete and maybe that was an issue. FWIW, I don't doubt at all that you could create a local account. I have yet to move to 11 from 10 for my VM setup and want to avoid doing so as long as possible, so I've been sort of tracking the issue, as that they may remove it permanently is a slight concern and interest to me.
