I agree with you about the disappointment. However I do also think EVs creep up on people and the stats bear this out - 3x more pedestrian collisions in urban areas EVs vs ICE. The moment of maximum surprise for me is when a silent and stationary vehicle suddenly moves. I think EVs should have to clear their throats before moving forward.
