"Delving".. Sounds like the authors might have used an LLM while writing this paper as well.
- smelendez 2y agoIt’s a joke. Delve is the first example they show.
- klipt 2y agoI associate the word strongly with Lord of the Rings. "The AI researchers delved too greedily and too deep, and awoke the BaLLMrog."
- throawayjune 2y agoLLMichel Delving
- esafak 2y agoIt's the Voight-Kampff test for LLMs :)
- CJefferson 2y agoThis is clearly a joke in the paper, they mention Delving is on of the words with the biggest frequency increase.
- MattGaiser 2y agoThat’s the joke.
- usef- 2y agoI'm surprised people make such a big deal out of "delving", it doesn't seem rare. Maybe it was less common in the US than elsewhere? (and do I have to deliberately avoid it now, to avoid sounding like AI?)
- daemonologist 2y agoI think it's not an extraordinarily rare word in the US, but it does feel to me more at home in a blog post or business strategy-ish document than a PubMed abstract. People are making a big deal of it just because the signal is so strong (25x more common now than in 2022).
- SoftTalker 2y agoYes, it's a bullshit business buzzword. It shows up because the LLMs are trained on a lot of corporate word salad.
- touisteur 2y agoIt might rather be because of who is (was) doing the HF of RLFH, or where most big moat builders went https://amp.theguardian.com/technology/2024/apr/16/techscape-ai-gadgest-humane-ai-pin-chatgpt https://amp.theguardian.com/technology/2024/apr/16/techscape...
- dweekly 2y agoThe spike is global. https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&q=delving&hl=en https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&q=delving&...
