Show HN: I built a Calendly integration that prevents no-shows
- chrisjj 2y agoI'm trying to work out any basis on which this will do more than perhaps reduce no-shows. Not to mention the negative impact on bookings.
- akshayprasath 2y agoIt allows you to charge a refundable deposit before letting clients book a spot on your existing Calendly links.
- verdverm 2y agoExcept people are going to not make a booking in the first place. I'm certainly not putting in payment info to book a slot on someone's calendar i.e. some no shows is better than nothing at all
- akshayprasath 2y agoI agree, but this mainly targets people with a large following who have a public booking link on their website. They likely have a packed calendar, and this would help them filter out non-serious buyers

- chrisjj 2y agoAnd seriously how is that expected to "stop no-shows"?
- akshayprasath 2y agoIf you had paid a deposit for it, wouldn’t the chances of attending be significantly higher compared to a free meeting?
- chrisjj 2y agoI doubt it. And regardless, that's far short of "stopping no-shows". I think more likely to stop a significant number of bookings.
- akshayprasath 2y agoSorry, but could you please clarify where I have mentioned ‘stopping no-shows’ on my site? It currently says ‘Notice a 60% reduction in no-shows’.
- chrisjj 2y agoI can't, because it has recently been removed. Site now says "forget no-shows". But HN title is unaltered. "prevents no-shows" > It currently says ‘Notice a 60% reduction in no-shows’. And what % reduction in shows?

- imtu80 2y agoIs sending a reminders (via email or text) with an option to cancel or reschedule doesn't work? Also, why wouldn't users use Stripe integration for the same? https://calendly.com/integration/stripe https://calendly.com/integration/stripe
- akshayprasath 2y agoAll your Calendly workflows and reminders that you've set up will work as usual in addition to this. Calendly Stripe integration can be used for collecting payments but this app makes it easy for you to refund anyone with just one click and keep track easily. With Calendly, you have to do the manual work of logging into your Stripe, finding the client and so on. Additionally, you can track your booking links here and know if a lead has opened the link, entered information, and check payment status etc..
- akshayprasath 2y agoReminders with an option to cancel or reschedule can still cause last minute cancellations/reschedules won't they?
