The issue with Linux for productive work (for me) is that I end up fiddling with it rather than getting stuff done. Windows is not much better (those hard to skip full screen ads after updates). MacOS for me is the one that has fewer distractions. I've been using the same image since 2006 (I upgraded OSes and migrated from one notebook to the next) with no issues, no reinstalls. That's 18 years having a really stable environment.
