It references Statkraft, the Norwegian power company. When they talk about storing power in batteries, they mean lakes and reservoirs at altitude. They are basically giant batteries.
- AtlasBarfed 2y agoPumped hydro is apparently really efficient, cheap, and very high capacity. It's just geographically restricted. Probably can also double as a water reservoir for a local town/city. Christ, the entire Norwegian coastline is a battery in that case.
