As someone who went to school and has kids in school in Germany, I'll say "citation needed".
Lessons in history and politics are very navel gazing here (as they should be, we do have a few things to work through). America and the 21st century don't feature enough to reach a subjective level of detail.
For Germans who want to earn more, Switzerland is the easy choice either for emigration or simply commuting.
With the rise in remote work, I would assume that in the next decade(s), other drivers of our emigration won't favor the US either:
- refugees wanting to return to their home once things calm down there
- climate
- rise of right wing politics, especially in East Germany
- interest in substantially different cultures
- matrix87 2y ago> citation needed not a great citation, maybe like one textbook. Americans probably find the criticism more sensational than Germans https://www.studocu.com/de/document/schule-deutschland/englisch/englisch-abitur/8797947 https://www.studocu.com/de/document/schule-deutschland/engli... https://www.reddit.com/r/germany/comments/toj93d/german_school_book/ https://www.reddit.com/r/germany/comments/toj93d/german_scho...
