AI is already affecting the junior dev/intern space. Seniors and mid developers really don't need juniors around, there is a GPT that you can ask questions to and get the boilerplate back that you would usually send to the juniors to think through and develop for you.
- sebastianz 2y agoYou can't NOT have juniors, because that is what seniors evolve from :) Otherwise when all current seniors die there would be nobody left to do programming.

- deeth_starr_v 2y agoNot in my experience. LLMs are nowhere near replacing a junior dev. Maybe you can have a junior dev fix their bug ridden garbage responses but that's not replacing them. It's possible this may be true in some domains now, but not in any I work in
