I can think of other reasons to use the tubes:
- At my bank, it lets them operate multiple lanes of drive-through without a teller directly at each lane.
- The failure case of handing valuable, loose slips of paper back and forth from a car window to a building is a whole lot worse than for a bag of fast food.
- jrochkind1 2y agoThere may be other reasons! But I should have been more clear, in this example it's not a drive-through, it's an inside lobby with human beings standing in a room! Instead of waiting in line to talk to a teller through a window, you wait in line to talk to a video screen with a phone handset and a pneumatic tube.
