Language is primarily a tool for communication rather than thought
- yawpitch 2y agoAnyone that thinks that English is optimized for communication hasn’t tried to communicate optimally. But as a tool primarily for generating usually suboptimal cooperation, occasional but reliable levels of conflict, and not all that rarely the conditions for murder, I’ll grant you.
