I was itching to go electric for years, but I'm still waiting to see a car I'd want to drive at a price I'd be willing to pay, and I'm no longer expecting that to change anytime soon.
In the meantime, I've cut most of the gasoline consumption out of my life by moving to a central urban neighborhood where I rarely have to drive. I may not have an EV in the driveway, but thanks to rental scooters, e-bikes, streetcars, trolleybuses, and the light rail system, most of my trips are powered by electric motors anyway.
