- benreesman 2y agoThere’s a long history of dynamic creatives of one kind or another (related to something called “retargeting” by some). There’s also a ton of science fiction about this, maybe the touchstone novel is William Gibson’s Idoru. I remain a skeptic of “AGI” (nonsense with transformers) and even the reliability of LLMs where getting the right answer is high-stakes, but it’s pretty much demonstrated that LLMs are wildly up to the task of manipulating people, and the image/speech/video generation stuff is either there or sees a clear path to it. I suppose whether this is exciting or horrifying is in the eyes of the beholder, I’m generally scared for society but it’s technically very cool.
