Twitter has been dominated by bots for years. I'm sure >90% of all tweets have been removed after being flagged as coming from bots at this point, and there are still lots of visible bots after all that filtering is done.
The difference now is that it's becoming almost impossible to detect the bots using NLP.
- verdverm 2y agoMany people also alleged that a subset of bots are paying to avoid removal. Certainly a nation state can afford a few million a month to ensure their influence campaign is not so disrupted
