Yeah, no, there's just some old forum posts and blogs talking about stuff that no longer exists. (On this topic, I really like websites with automatic warnings "this was written X years ago, might no longer be true"). Your options are to use the nightlies (perfectly fine IMO), pay a lot for an enterprise LTS, or be a non-profit/education and get LTS for cheap/free.
