Renewables evangelists are among the least trustworthy of all partisans. How is it possible that solar and wind are "10X more efficient at CO2 mitigation" when their low reliability drives us to regularly fire up natural gas plants to shore up their sagging production? With every cold snap, on every cloudy day, solar and wind create CO2 by relying on dirty backup. Nuclear does not. There is no way that you can get to this "10X" figure without cynically ignoring this reality.
