Reality of European "Tech" Industry
- talldayo 2y agoThe reality is that the European Commission had the gall to investigate the US's premier companies before the US did. Until the US inquiries are over, it's absolutely silly to start pointing fingers at the EU when they very well could have been outdoing the US at it's own due diligence. It's genuinely unreal how pissed off HN and Twitter gets at the idea of capitalism destroying what they like. It's all fun-and-Google-graveyard until someone suggests that your iPhone or your favorite social media site could get ruined by an overzealous CEO. Now you're screaming like Chicken Little because an obvious anti-competitive racket has been identified and outlawed, get a grip. Laissez-faire, meet savoir-faire.

- marssaxman 2y ago> Your infrastructure is a model for the world but is configured for rail over self drive. That is only sensible: self-driving cars, should they ever become a significant part of the transportation fleet, cannot scale any better than ordinary cars do.
