Lucid CEO says its Air has hit efficiency of 5 miles per kWh
- throwaway211 2y agoOne kWh is the same energy use as a one bar electric heater on for an hour which is impressive for hauling 3 tons or howevermuch the chasis is 5 miles, until you realise that you could just walk those 5 miles and warm yourself up in the process for free.
- tromp 2y ago> No one else is even close. Not remotely close. No production car is close. But prototypes certainly are. Mercedes-Benz demonstrated 8.3 kWh/100 km [1], which translates to 7.5 miles/KwH, while Aptera claims 10 miles/KwH [2], although I don't think that was demonstrated on an actual road trip.
