A battery made using the dirtiest grid that produces them at scale (110kg CO2/kWh of battery) breaks even compared to gas after ~200 cycles. LFP batteries commonly used as stationary storage regularly do 2000 cycles. Makes more sense to use that gas to make more batteries.
