But from who and where will Huawei future growth come from? Domestic Chiba sales alone. Their market presence is very strong there, but in the EU and US definitely not the case. It will be interesting to see if their tech can overcome the politics.
- throwaway4good 2y agoIt will come from the rest of the world. A 10 mio people city in Africa needs just as many 5G base stations as a 10 mio people city in the US.
- jsiepkes 2y agoI highly doubt Africa cares about 5G as much as the west does. Someone will need to pay for that stuff and 5G also needs to be hooked up to a backhaul which supports 5G speeds.
- nothercastle 2y agoTheir 5g is their primary internet. Land lines are mostly a western luxury. High end phones are probably not in play but lower end ones are

- vikramkr 2y agoIt's way more efficient and logical to skip right to high speed mobile data than build out cable/optical/landline infrastructure
- theturtletalks 2y agoChina tends to offer these countries loans and even subsidies so they can build that infrastructure. Trade off is that China will control that part of that country’s operations for the foreseeable future. It’s how they came to control many ports in developing countries.
