- FireBeyond 2y ago> Donald Trump says he wants all future bitcoin to be minted in the U.S. LOL, what? > Many agreed that the former president was collaborative, had well-informed questions Like "How can BTC help us win AI?" I mean, there's no-one here that needs it explained to them that that is NOT a well-informed question. > and seemed genuinely interested in how bitcoin miners could help solve America’s energy deficit problem. "By turning them off"? > according to a survey recently conducted by bitcoin financial services firm Unchained Oh, is this study still being touted as something reliable? "Company with vested interest in increasing BTC investment says that of their customers and leads, who are higher percentile income and wealth, they have extrapolated that a quarter of all Americans own BTC? 333M people. Let's assume that minors don't typically own BTC (I know some probably do), so minus 85M. Let's say that very few over 70y do. That's minus another 35. 210M left over. Average household size in 2023, 2.51, so 83M households. 1 in 3 households in the US hold at least 1 BTC? I'm going to call a strenuous BS on that. (Unchained’s “US Investor Outlook for BTC in 2024” survey sample size of 402 individuals is representative of the US investor population with a 5% margin of error at a 95% confidence level. To qualify for this survey, respondents were required to be permanent residents of the US between the ages of 18 and 78 and self-report as having one or more current financial investment(s).) The only thing this whole article is good for is showing how clueless Trump is, and playing cryptopolitical buzzword bingo.
