> Of course, the availability of a second solution, even if it is highly suggestive, is not by itself sufficient to discredit the DM hypothesis – it could be an interesting mathematical exercise at best.
- karmakaze 2y agoThe possibility of a second solution other than dark matter sounds great to me. Just because we know mass warps space, we don't know it's the only thing that does. We should have called dark matter "imaginary matter" because it's a solution to an equation that we can't solve using what's known. Interesting to wonder how we will have misnamed it in retrospect.
- tekla 2y agoDark matter is called "Dark" because it doesn't seem to interact with EM. It describes it fine and isn't wrong because you don't like the the name.
- karmakaze 2y ago"Dark matter is not a theory"[0] Dark matter, do we need it? what is it? where is it? how much? - jollofricepeas 2y agoThis is a really poor reply. It doesn’t answer my question of whether the exercise will be embraced or just outright ignored by the scientific community.
